A message to holistic and spiritual business owners:

If you worry about whether you can pay the bills doing the work you love, take a deep breath, relax, and read this message. It will allow you to surrender to your work and to the clients and customers you care about.

Dear Friend,

How exciting to do work that brings others deep peace and joy. How fulfiling to thrive in that work so you never have to worry about mundane concerns like paying your bills.

If you're not there yet, no need to fret. If the Universe wants you to do this work, all will work out. But, as you know, you do need to take actions that feel right and appropriate.

As you also know, few businesses thrive without marketing themselves. The most important factor in marketing is persuasive communication. You must be able to communicate the benefits of your product or service to the appropriate prospective clients or customers and persuade them that your solution is the right one for them.

It's also important that your message gets out to the right people. So good copy alone is vitally important, but it's not enough. You've got to be sure that message is easily found by your target prospects.

Do those two things and you can attract as many clients as you want, and thrive in the profession you love.

If you have any reservations about doing either of those things, you may want to ask yourself a question. . .

Do you think marketing is a four-letter word?

I used to. In fact, I wrote an article about it, which I share with my subscribers.

But then I started a little business offering music classes to children. I wrote ads, press releases, and calendar listings. I realized then that marketing was no dirty deed, but simply the way I let families know about classes I was proud to offer.

Marketing is simply letting people know about your business and what's good about it. That may be scary to those who offer an inferior product or service, or who are overly fearful of competitors. But for spiritually minded business owners, offering high-quality services or products is the only acceptable way of doing business.

If you’re not sure
how to market yourself, you’ve got plenty of company. It’s not your fault. You’re busy doing what you do best, working with clients or producing life-enhancing products (or both), and improving your healing skills. You and your clients benefit when you spend your time and energy on your work.

That's where I come in.

My name is Janet Beatrice.

I've spent years studying copywriting and I can tell you, it’s not easy. It’s great work and I love it. But if you want to write your own copy, you might as well get a second job.

That's how much commitment is takes. That's how much work it takes.

At the risk of sounding immodest, I’ve been a good writer since I was a kid. I’ve only been a good copywriter for a few years. Why? Because copywriting requires a strong understanding of many principles and practices regarding customer psychology, persuasion, and form.

Copy written from this foundation brings in customers and clients.

Many copywriters take the easy way out, using hype and appealing to the basest emotions, or even stretching the truth to entice customers.

Not all do. There are also many copywriters who take the time and effort to thoroughly learn about the service or product, uncover all its benefits, then polish these discoveries so they shine to readers.

These are the copywriters who never stop honing their skills. And they’re the ones who'll tell you whether or not you really need them before they take a penny from you. Yes, there are times when your focus should be on other matters. And they’ll be straight with you about that, whether or not they want the work.

I'm proud to be among that group of copywriters.

When you hire me, you get strong, honest, persuasive copy and sensible marketing advice, explained clearly. And a bit more. You get a writer with a strong, ever-evolving spiritual side, and that makes me an outstanding choice for you.

Why I can make the connections other copywriters cannot

My knowledge, experience, and commitment to spirituality allow me to write copy that really connects with the people you most want to help.

In fact, I get truly excited about my clients’ products and services. I often purchase them myself and sometimes I just have to hold myself back!

When your copy is buoyed by an undercurrent of genuine excitement for your service or product, potential clients and customers get excited too!

Most important, you and I are both on a spiritual path. It’s deeply important to us to live our lives in a loving, compassionate, and honest manner. This ensures, not just a connection between you and me, and between your potential clients and me. It also means our values are aligned, so you can be assured that my marketing methods will mesh with your values. If, for some reason, they don’t, I will always honor your wishes.

Angels, Djembes and Chi

Having reaped the benefits of Reiki sessions, intuitive counseling, yoga classes, angel readings, and drum circles, as well as books and other items that enhance my own spiritual journey, I truly value spiritual services and products.

  • I practice yoga and qui gong.

  • I’ve had angel readings and psychic readings. I own two decks of angel cards and an angel board – and I use them.

  • I’ve taken hand drumming classes, participated in drum circles, and am the proud owner of two djembes (one made in Africa from a solid tree trunk!).

  • I’ve experienced the strong sensation of chi through flow through my body, thanks to my wonderful acupuncturist (if you live anywhere near Wellesley, MA, you’ve got to pay her a visit!).

  • I make a yearly trip to Kripalu Yoga and Meditation resort, in the gorgeous Berkshire Mountains, where I’ve studied with renowned American Buddhist monk Genpo Roshi, as well as many other wonderful and enlightened teachers.

But can I help you get clients?

While I believe my spiritual center is essential in conveying your message persuasively, you’ll also want to know if I can truly bring you the clients you need.

Here’s what some of my clients have told me:

“Our conversion rate has tripled since we implemented your changes! It is hard to determine what makes visitors become buyers, but you must have a very good understanding of that…You are an excellent writer, and after working with you, consider you a great ‘long-distance’ friend. Again, thank you.”

“Your help in editing my 26 articles for the ABCs of Balance in Public Speaking Toolkit email series was invaluable. I was often so pressed for time that I would send you the first draft of an article for final edits. It was always reassuring to know that you'd catch any problems and fix them, and I came to trust that your edits would always maintain the integrity of my voice. In writing the content for my home page, you did a lovely job of creating a connection with the visitors to my website with your friendly, accessible tone. Thank you!”

When you hire a marketing writer, choose one who understands and values you and your work.

A good copywriting pro can take a subject he or she doesn’t understand, learn about it thoroughly, and write good copy for you.

But it won’t be as good as it could be.

A copywriter who values your work on a deep level, from her heart and her soul, simply has to be more persuasive in selling your product or service, provided she’s also a good copywriter.

I could have chosen professionals from any field in the world to write this letter to, but
I chose you. You’re making the world a better place. When I help you thrive, I’m making the world a better place too.

My gift to you:

Please accept a free, half-hour marketing consultation. Let me know your marketing needs, and I’ll help you determine the best, most honest way to meet those needs. If that doesn’t include hiring me, I’ll let you know, and you’ll leave the conversation with valuable feedback. If I think I could help you, I’ll tell you how and why. Either way, there’s no obligation.

Why would I offer you a half-hour of my time and ask nothing in return? Because that’s one way I market myself. And I love doing it. I get excited when I can help someone find new ways to reach more people and make more money.

But I do urge you to call soon, as I don't expect to be able to offer this free consultation for more than a month or two.

Work with me before you make a commitment.

Even if you’re ready to hire me as a copywriter, I urge you to take me up on this offer. It will give you a risk-free way to work with me before you make a commitment.

Just contact me at
janet@marketwithspirit.com to set up a time for your phone consultation.

I can’t wait to connect you with those clients and customers who need you!

Namaste. I honor the divine within you.

Market with Spirit

P.S. A good copywriter can truly make the difference between struggling and thriving. Especially when that copywriter is willing to go the extra mile and guide you in marketing your new copy. Remember, there's no obligation, so please allow me to help you at no charge, so you can truly thrive doing the work you care about.
